Hoops end Shels unbeaten run
Shamrock Rovers 3 Shelbourne 0
Two stunning free-kicks saw Liam Buckley's Shamrock Rovers end Shelbourne’s unbeaten start to the season at Richmond Park this evening.
Rovers started brightly and took a deserved lead on 25 minutes when Steven Gough scored a spectacular goal from a 40-yard free-kick.
Keith O’Halloran doubled Rovers lead eleven minutes later when curling another free past a bemused Steve Williams in the Shels’ goal.
It got worse for Shels on 54 minutes when left-back Dave Rogers was sent off for a second booking to all but hand the points to Rovers.
The third goal came in the 92nd minute when Stephen Grant headed in a Trevor Molloy cross.
