Souness warning for Gallacher
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness has warned teenage striker Paul Gallagher that he needs to keep his feet on the ground.
Souness believes there is a slight risk of the 19-year-old getting carried away with his success – but insists that if the young Scot can keep his head then he and Jonathan Stead can form a lethal partnership.
The Blackburn manager told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: “Gally is arguably technically better than Jon Stead.
“He’s not as physically strong as Jon and there’s a slight question mark over whether he’ll get the big head on.
“But if he doesn’t get the big head on then what a wonderful partnership him and Jon could be.
“The hardest place to play football is up front, and the hardest thing to do is score goals but Jon’s doing that in the highest league,” said Souness.
Blackburn have opened talks with Craig Short and Jonathan Douglas, who are both out of contract in the summer, about new deals and intend to do the same with Tugay in the near future.
