Corkman Conor Hourihane is back in management, headhunted by new Leicester City boss Russell Martin as his assistant.

The Foxes are in rebuild mode, having been relegated to League One for the first time in 18 years. Their league opener comes against Notts County on August 15.

Hourihane, 35, knows the division well, having played and managed in the third tier. He parted company as Barnsley manager at the end of last season following just over a year in his first standalone managerial role. They finished 15th of 24 teams.

Also part of the new staff is Rhys Owen as fitness coach. He brings significant experience in physical performance and conditioning and has previously worked alongside Martin during his previous managerial spells at Norwich City, Swansea City, Southampton and, most recently, Rangers.
