Vladimir Smicer believes Liverpool are making life difficult for themselves as they struggle to stay in the Champions League hunt.

Smicer returned after three months out with Achilles problems against Charlton on Monday, only to have Liverpool’s best chance saved superbly by Dean Kiely in the dying minutes.
