England keeper David James will make his debut for Manchester City against Blackburn on Saturday as they look to record their first Premiership win since November 1.

James joined the club from West Ham in midweek and will take over in goal from 20-year-old Dane Kevin Ellegaard, who will be relegated to the substitutes bench

Jon Macken could be also in line for his first Premiership start even though Robbie Fowler is likely to have recovered from the knee injury which kept him out of Wednesday’s FA Cup triumph at Leicester.

Claudio Reyna (calf) has an outside chance of being fit but manager Kevin Keegan could decide to stick with the team that ended a 14-match run without a victory at the Walkers Stadium.

Team (from): James, Ellegaard, Distin, Dunne, Sommeil, Wiekens, Jihai, Bosvelt, McManaman, Sinclair, Reyna, Wright-Phillips, Tarnat, Tiatto, Sibierski, Barton, Anelka, Fowler, Macken.
