Dundalk sign striker Vaughan

Eircom First Division outfit Dundalk have completed their second close season signing of the week with the arrival of former Monaghan United striker Trevor Vaughan at Oriel Park this morning.

28-year-old Vaughan joins Monday’s capture of Shelbourne goalkeeper Chris Bennion as the Lilywhites bid to increase their chances of promotion this year, having finished tenth of 12 teams in their last campaign.

Vaughan plundered 15 goals for bottom side Monaghan last season and has been their top scorer at the club since 2001.

"I am delighted to have signed for Dundalk and am looking forward to the new season already," he said.

"I believe Dundalk are going in the right direction and I want to be part of the transformation."
