Ferguson operation a success

Blackburn midfielder Barry Ferguson has had a successful operation on his broken kneecap but doctors have confirmed that he will miss the rest of the season.

The Scotland captain went under the knife yesterday at a Manchester hospital following the injury during Rovers’ 1-0 win at Newcastle on Sunday.
