Pistone suffers further injury setback

Defender Alessandro Pistone will miss Everton’s Christmas fixtures after suffering another injury blow.

Pistone picked up a shoulder injury against Leicester on Saturday, only his second game back after hernia problems.

Everton physio Mick Rathbone told the club’s official website, www.evertonfc.com: “Sandro’s had an x-ray, which came back all clear and it confirmed our initial diagnosis.

“He’s sprained the acromio-clavicular joint in his right shoulder and he’ll be out for several weeks.

“It will take time to heal and to settle and he’ll be in some discomfort for a while.”

Pistone has featured in just seven of the Blues’ games this season and underwent a hernia operation in October.
