Fears over the fitness of David Beckham were allayed this morning after the England captain resumed training with his Real Madrid team-mates.

Beckham was back in business in the Madrid rain after missing Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League victory over UEFA Cup holders Porto with a foot problem.
