Manchester United captain Roy Keane broke his 21-month Premiership goal drought on Saturday and admitted: "I should score more often."

Keane set the Red Devils on their way to a comfortable 4-1 win over Leicester with a neatly-taken 15th-minute opener, his first league strike for United since he wrapped up a victory over Blackburn in January 2002.

Although that period includes a four-month stint on the sidelines as he recovered from hip surgery at the start of last season, the 32-year-old accepts it is a poor return for such an influential member of Alex Ferguson's squad.

"I have been disappointed with my goal ratio recently because I feel I should score more often," the former Republic of Ireland international told MUTV.

"In recent years I have not gone forward as much, especially when Paul Scholes has been in the side because he is so good at it.

"Having said that, we have a lot of players who score regularly and the priority for me is winning football matches and trophies, which is what we have done."
