Wiltord pondering new Arsenal deal
Sylvain Wiltord claims he will extend his stay at Arsenal if the club come up with the right offer.
The France international's present contract expires next summer but Wiltord has not excluded signing a new deal with the Gunners.
Speaking to L'Equipe from the French national team's Clairefontaine base, Wiltord said that he could sign on within a month - if Arsenal made the first move.
"I talked with Arsenal in March and then August," said Wiltord.
"Arsene (Wenger) told me that a two-year contract for a forward of my age would need a big effort.
"For all the work I have put in over three years I wanted a bit more recognition."
He went on to say that he was thinking of signing a new deal.
"I am well at Arsenal," he said. "There are few clubs at that level of competitiveness and with such training conditions.
"Signing a new deal would help clear my head. I am not going to play the fool. I feel well in London."
He claimed the only obstacle to a new deal was his need for the club to show how much he meant to them.
"The club is offering me a contract," he said. "I am motivated by emotions.
"When I feel I am wanted and that they make me feel I am wanted there are no worries. So, it's still open. Maybe it will be done in a month."
