Sporting Lisbon striker Cristiano Ronaldo will be presented as a new Manchester United player this week, Portuguese TV reported this evening.

Sporting Lisbon striker Cristiano Ronaldo will be presented as a new Manchester United player this week, Portuguese TV reported this evening.

RTP reported that the youngster’s agent Jorge Mendes met United officials tonight and struck a deal to bring the 18-year-old to Old Trafford.

The reports say that the player could be formally presented as early as tomorrow and that he will get a five-year contract while the deal is said to be worth €12m to the Portuguese outfit.

Sporting Lisbon president Antonio Dias de Cunha will not confirm or deny the reports while, United also declined to comment.

United and Sporting had earlier this year agreed a partnership deal.
