Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been targeted by Spanish side Real Betis.

The Dutchman, who was strongly linked last summer with a move to Barcelona, is reported to have held talks with Betis officials over a move back to Spain.

Hasselbaink was a big hit in his short spell, scoring 24 goals in 34 games for Atletico Madrid before a £15m (€21m) move to Stamford Bridge in June 2000.

Betis coach Victor Fernandez told the Daily Mirror: “We need a goalscorer. Jimmy knows the language and the Spanish league. I’m sure he will come to Seville if we can arrange the financial terms of the deal.”
