West Brom close in on Gaardsoe

Ipswich have accepted a bid from Division One rivals West Brom for defender Thomas Gaardsoe.

The Town board accepted the bid for the 23-year-old Dane on Tuesday evening after rejecting two earlier offers.

“Having rejected two previous bids we have agreed terms with West Bromwich Albion for the sale of Thomas Gaardsoe,” Ipswich chairman David Sheepshanks told the club’s official website, www.itfc.co.uk.

“West Brom have now been given permission to speak to the player regarding personal terms.

“Thomas has become a popular figure at Portman Road and if he is to leave many will be sad to see him go.”
