Kewell injury a worry for Houllier
Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier faces an anxious wait over the fitness of new signing Harry Kewell after the Australian international limped out of today’s 1-1 friendly draw with Crewe at Gresty Road.
Kewell will undergo a scan tomorrow but Houllier is concerned over a left ankle injury which Kewell first picked up at a training camp in Switzerland after his £5million move from Leeds.
“He got a bad knock on the ankle again, the same he hurt at the training camp in Switzerland,” Houllier told the club website, www.liverpoolfc.tv.
“The doctor has put some ice on it. We will scan it tomorrow and we shall see.
“But it doesn’t look good. When the doc says he has to have a scan you always fear the worst.”
