Shels' lead at the top was reduced to six points as plucky UCD battled away to earn a point in this top versus bottom clash at Tolka Park.

UCD shock Shels by taking a seventh minute lead when Robbie Griffin headed home McWalter's cross.

But Shels were level on 19 minutes when Ollie Cahill skipped away down the left to cross for Jason Byrne to finish.
