Wolves have signed Portuguese midfielder Silas from Uniao Leiria for an initial £1m (€1.43m) fee.

The signing of Silas – whose full name is Jorge Manuel Rebelo Fernandes - follows the arrival of Nigerian defender Isaac Okoronkwo from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk yesterday.

The fee for Silas could eventually rise to £1.5m (€2.1m) based on him fulfilling an appearance clause.

The newly-promoted Barclaycard Premiership club have also signed Ukrainian veteran Oleg Luzhny from Arsenal.
