Defensive blow for Addicks

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley takes his side to Manchester United tomorrow without his first choice centre-backs after Richard Rufus underwent knee surgery.

Rufus, who missed last week’s victory over Southampton as his knee was too painful, is joined on the sick list by Mark Fish, who is also suffering from knee problems, and Tahar El Khalej who has a damaged calf.

Stand-in centre-half Luke Young will continue his partnership alongside Jonathan Fortune in an unchanged squad.

Team (from): Kiely, Kishishev, Young, Fortune, Powell, Lisbie, Parker, Jensen, Konchesky, Euell, Bartlett, Roberts, Stuart, Bart-Williams, Johansson, Sakofa.
