Jason Byrne made it three goals in two league games as Pat Fenlon's side stayed top of the table

with this narrow win.

The only goal came on four minutes as Byrne capitalised on a defensive blunder to shoot past Andy Petterson.

Stephen Geoghegan and Byrne came close to adding to that in the second half, but Derry made a match of it and Shels had to work hard for their three points.
