Vogts concern over hampden surface
Scotland manager Berti Vogts is concerned about the state of the Hampden Park pitch and he is set to bring up the issue with his bosses.
The surface at the national stadium is in a poor state of repair despite being completely relaid less than a year ago at a cost of £100,000 (€150,000).
The problem was especially apparent during the two CIS Cup semi-finals last week and the pitch will be under the spotlight once again during tomorrow’s friendly with the Republic of Ireland.
Vogts is keen to get the pitch right for the summer showdown with Euro 2004 group favourites Germany and there is another important home qualifier with Iceland much nearer on the horizon.
