Roeder in race to clinch Noble deal

Glenn Roeder was tonight in a race against time to finalise his second eleventh-hour swoop of a frantic transfer deadline day at Upton Park.

The West Ham boss has already made a surprise raid for Fulham left-back Rufus Brevett, who was so keen to be registered in time for the Hammers’ home clash with Liverpool on Sunday that he had a pre-dawn medical at 5am this morning.
