Seaman rules out England retirement

David Seaman has decided to fight for his place as England's number one after ruling out international retirement.

The Arsenal keeper says he will not retire despite the storm of criticism following blunders against Brazil in the World Cup and Macedonia in a European Championship qualifier.

Seaman says on the documentary 'David Seaman: The Real Story' screened on BBC1 at 10.45pm on Wednesday: "I've decided I want to keep playing. There's no doubt about that, otherwise I would have called it a day the day after the Brazil game.

"I realised in the summer that it wasn't something that I wanted to give up while I was still playing okay. I really enjoyed myself in the World Cup apart from that one mistake.
