Millwall step up Wise security
Millwall have confirmed midfielder Dennis Wise has received “a number” of death threats.
The former England midfielder was sacked by Leicester this summer after an incident in which team-mate Callum Davidson suffered a fractured cheekbone. Wise subsequently moved to the New Den.
But the Lions have been forced to increase security for their controversial new arrival after he received several threatening letters.
A Millwall statement read: “Millwall Football Club are aware of a number of death threat letters sent to Dennis Wise, which have been handed over to the Metropolitan Police.
“As a consequence such security measures as have been deemed appropriate have been implemented. The situation is under constant review.
“All decent football supporters will, we know, agree with us in condemning such threats.”
