Keane could be back in action by end of October

Roy Keane could be back in action by the end of October.

The Manchester United skipper underwent a hip operation yesterday and while initial reports suggested a three-month lay-off, Alex Ferguson last night suggested Keane could be back in

just six weeks.

"We expect him to be back in six weeks. We thought it was maybe a three-month job, but fortunately and hopefully it will be about six weeks."
