McLaren to remain in England set-up
Steve McClaren has decided to stay on as Sven-Goran Eriksson's right-hand man at England.
The Middlesbrough manager this week informed the Swede he intended to remain a key member of the international set-up.
And he said he had "unfinished business" after England's quarter-final World Cup exit to Brazil.
He said: "I and certain it will make me a better coach and a better manager. To represent your country at the highest level is a tremendous honour and not many people get the opportunity.
"I might not be a flag-waving patriot but having gone through what we did in the World Cup, both in the build-up and the tournament itself, you realise what it means to you as a person and a coach. It is something extra special.
"It was a disappointment to go out to Brazil and it has left me with a feeling of unfinished business."
The former Manchester United number two revealed the influence of Eriksson himself had been a crucial factor in him staying on.
He added in the Mail on Sunday: "First and foremost I enjoy working with Sven. He gives me a lot of freedom within the framework he lays down
"I feel totally involved, especially when it comes to preparing for the big games."
