Baggies admit defeat in Gregan hunt
West Brom have finally admitted defeat in their efforts to land Preston captain Sean Gregan and have turned their attentions elsewhere.
The Premiership newcomers yesterday tabled a third and final bid for the 28-year-old midfielder, upping their offer to £2m (€3.2m).
But Preston rejected the improved deal. West Brom managing director Brendon Batson told the
club’s official website, www.wba.co.uk: "We feel this is more than a realistic valuation of the player and we will not be increasing our offer.
"We never wanted to make these transfer negotiations for Sean public. Preston have decided to turn down our offer so we will now move on."
