Pompey interested in Ginola

Portsmouth have opened talks with Everton winger David Ginola. Manager Harry Redknapp has revealed the Frenchman is interested in joining.

But the deal could depend on Ginola's wages - which were reportedly around £25,000 (€38,000) per week at Goodison Park.

Redknapp told The News: "I've spoken to him and he's very interested. I think he would be a tremendous signing, but it's not close because I haven't put a deal to him yet.

"It all depends on the finances. He's not at a club at the moment so it's a different ball game.

It's just a case of whether we can get him without being silly ourselves."
