Senegal 'could win final'

Former Lions legend and current assistant coach Jules Bocande believes Senegal have got what it takes to win the World Cup.

"I see us in the final," Bocande boldly predicted.

"The World Cup came to Senegal recently and I carried it for two days, wearing ceremonial white gloves. Now I think I will be able to lift it without wearing white gloves!"

Whether or not the Dakar Lions do manage to win the World Cup, they have already given a huge amount of pleasure to their countrymen.

"Today the people forgot all their problems, and they all got behind the team. It makes the country live again, and I think that is extraordinary."
