Vialli sacked by Watford
Watford have sacked Gianluca Vialli as manager.
The shock news comes shortly after the club had announced three redundancies after parting company with first-team coach Ray Wilkins on Wednesday.
Fitness coach Giovanni Vaglini, club doctor Ian Beasley and masseur John Kelly left Vicarage Road yesterday.
The Hornets are desperate to cut costs following the collapse of ITV Digital and have been forced to take drastic action.
Chief executive Tim Shaw said: ‘‘These are very difficult circumstances for all concerned.
‘‘I want to place on record our sincere thanks for the hard work and efforts by all of these staff over the last 12 months,’’ he told the club’s official website, www.watfordfc.com before the sacking.
