Rovers snap up Todd
Blackburn have signed centre-half Andy Todd from Charlton for an initial fee of £750,000 (€1.2m).
The former Bolton defender, who passed a medical at Ewood Park yesterday, has signed a three-year contract and becomes Rovers’ first signing of the close season.
The son of former Derby boss Colin Todd ended last season on loan at First Division Grimsby but impressed Blackburn manager Graeme Souness while on trial at Rovers.
‘‘I was attracted by the size of the club and the players,’’ the 27-year-old told Blackburn’s official website, www.rovers.co.uk.
‘‘There are some exciting young players here and the prospect of being in the same team as them encouraged me to sign.
‘‘I came up for a trial and took part in training. I knew from the start it felt right. And I made my mind up that if Rovers were to offer me a deal, I would sign straight away.’’
