Longford to seek injunction against Bohs

Longford Town will press ahead with High Court action against Bohemians unless the Dublin club agrees that its new manager, Stephen Kenny, takes no part in Saturday’s FAI Cup tie between the two sides.

Longford Town have vowed to press ahead with High Court action against Bohemians unless the Dublin club agrees that its new manager, Stephen Kenny, takes no part in Saturday’s FAI Cup tie between the two sides.

Kenny moved from Longford to Bohs last week, but officials at Longford believe he has so much inside knowledge of their team that Bohs will have an unfair advantage on Saturday.

Longford have said they will seek an injunction under the Trade Secrets Act unless Kenny refrains from participating in the FAI Cup tie.

The club’s vice-chairman, Jim Hanley, said Longford Town has no animosity towards Kenny and wishes him well in his new role at Bohemians.

Longford officials have given Bohs until the end of today to respond to their requests or they will seek the injunction at the High Court.
