Clive Delaney headed home a Darragh Ryan free-kick on 21 minutes to give in-form UCD a fourth win in five games.

Monaghan started well but fell away as UCD dominated for long spells.

Gareth Downey in the Monaghan goal saved well from Ciaran Martyn just before the break.

And the Trojans keeper again did well to make the stop of the game six minutes from time to deprive Robbie Martin a second goal for UCD.
