Premiership: Everton sign Blomqvist from Man Utd

Everton have signed Manchester United winger Jesper Blomqvist on the advice of United manager Alex Ferguson.

Blomqvist’s has been dogged by a knee injury for the last two years and his contract at Old Trafford has now expired.

He joined United for £4.5m from Parma in July 1998, but only managed one goal in 38 appearances. He hasn’t featured in Alex Ferguson’s first team since United won the Champions League in 1999.
