Premiership: Beckham rules out management

David Beckham will not be a manager when his playing career is over.

The England and Manchester United midfielder has no intention of following in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson.

He believes he will have had enough "stress and hassle" by the time he hangs up his boots.

"I don't want to be a manager or a coach," the 26-year-old told a British tabloid.

"I will have had stress and hassle for the last 20 years so it will be a relief not to.

"I'd just like to see kids playing football and having a laugh. I'd rather put myself into that."

Beckham will stay at Old Trafford for as long as he is happy there, and does not feel he has to move abroad to prove himself.

"People can always have their opinions, like to become a great player you've got to go and play in Italy and Spain.

"But for me happiness is more important. It's my decision. If I'm happy in my life and my football at United, then I won't make any changes in it."

"I've had the offers - you see things in the papers about Barcelona, Milan and Madrid and you think about it. But if I'm happy I don't see why I should move anywhere else."
