Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has hinted this evening that he may quit Old Trafford unless he is given a first-team place when he recovers from injury.

Yorke’s place in the United team is uncertain following the arrival of Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy from PSV Eindhoven during the summer.

"I am injured at the moment," Yorke said, "but once I am back playing again, if I am not given a chance, I will have to look at the alternatives. This is a major club and you want to do well, but if opportunities don’t present themselves, you need to look at the situation."
