Jeff Hendrick: Time was right to move

Jeff Hendrick says his adventures in France this summer convinced him the time was right to make the step up to the Premier League.

The midfielder was one of Ireland’s brightest lights as Martin O’Neill’s men came through the group before losing to France in the last 16.

His exploits always seemed likely to secure the 24-year-old a move from Derby County to the top flight but Hendrick had to wait until yesterday, the final day of the transfer window, to secure a move to Premier League new boys Burnley.
