Corinthians advance

College Corinthians exacted quick revenge on neighbours Douglas Hall as the Castletreasure outfit advanced to the third round of the FAI Intermediate Cup with a 3-0 victory at Moneygourney on Saturday.

After going down to a late winner in the league game at Corinthians Park last week, Tadgh O’Connell’s side were always on top and goals from Aidan O’Mahoney, Kieran Kenneally and Peter Moreland saw them advance.

There was only one Beamish Stout Munster Senior League premier division match played, where goals from Gary Aherne, JP O’Sullivan and Vinnie O’Brien saw St Mary’s defeat Midleton 3-1 at Knockgriffin Park on Friday. The win move St Mary’s up to third place.

In the first division, Mayfield United saw off visitors CIT 3-2, while Ringmahon Rangers drew 2-2 with Blarney United at Ringmahon Park.

In the only second division match, Passage continued their good start to the season with a 3-1 home win over Glasheen in Passage on Friday to move to within three points of leaders Cobh Wanderers.

Meanwhile, in the Keane Cup Avondale United booked their semi-final spot with a 2-0 victory over Mallow United in Mallow, while Leeds needed penalties to advance at the expense of Leeside after the sides finished 1-1 after extra-time in Little Island.

In the Donie Forde Trophy quarter-final, UCC defeated Carrigaline United 3-2 at Ballea Park, while Everton beat Castleview 4-3 at O’Sullivan Park.
