Keane to start new job today

Roy Keane will formally start work as Aston Villa’s assistant manager when the players begin pre-season training today — and he admits that he can’t wait.

It has been three years since Republic of Ireland number two Keane was involved in day to day management when he was in charge at Ipswich Town.

He is relishing the chance to work at Villa as Paul Lambert’s number two and can’t wait to meet the players.
