Roy keen on spiritual aid

Republic of Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane is a strong advocate of sports chaplaincy.

Reverend John Boyers, chaplain at Manchester United for the past three decades, said Keane sought him out on many occasions to discuss personal issues during his tenure at Old Trafford.

“I found Roy and his wife Theresa to be very supportive of the idea of sports chaplaincy. He was always positive, always friendly and always very open,” he told a conference on Sports and Spirituality in Thurles at the weekend.
