Dunne warns players of Crusaders’ threat

Setanta Cup holders Crusaders visit Turner’s Cross tonight to take on Cork City in the quarter-final first leg of this year’s competition (kick off 7.45pm).

Dunne warns players of Crusaders’ threat

City comfortably eliminated Cliftonville in the first round and though Crusaders currently lag 14 points behind them in the Danske Bank Premiership, City manager Tommy Dunne is not expecting an easy ride.

“Crusaders are in second place in the Irish League and they will be tough opposition,” he says. “They are the holders of the competition and they are going very well again this season.”

For Cork, John Dunleavy is ruled out following a bout of tonsillitis; Brian Lenihan is still recovering from a groin injury and Kalen Spillane is suspended.

Tonight’s tie has been brought forward because of the rescheduling of City’s opening Airtricity League Premier Division game against Limerick in Thomond Park on March 10. The second leg will be played, along with the first legs of the other quarter-finals on March 4.
