Given link with Celtic ruled out

Shay Given has been told there is no point in him thinking about making a move to Celtic.

Given lost his place at Aston Villa to Brad Guzan and the former Republic of Ireland number one revealed he was keen one day to make a return to Celtic. He started his career there without getting in the team, but, as far as Villa manager Paul Lambert is concerned, he can’t understand why Given is talking about playing for Celtic.

“I think any Irish lad would love to play for Celtic because of the club it is,” Lambert said.
