Town find their form

Longford Town got their promotion bid back on track with a first win in four as they brushed aside SD Galway in front of just 119 fans at Eamon Deacy Park last night.

Longford took control from the outset and hit the front in less than three minutes when Gary Shaw punished poor defending to head in a corner.

They made it 2-0 after 26 minutes when more sloppy defending saw Dan Purdy finish.

Longford made it three just before the break when Karl Bermingham headed home in.

Galway pulled one back on the hour when Longford keeper Craig Hyland let Paddy Quinlan in.

Longford will now head to Limerick for a top of the table clash full of confidence.
