Documentary to reveal inside story at Anfield

Liverpool are to allow unprecedented behind-the-scenes dressing-room access to American broadcaster FOX Soccer for a six-part documentary.

Cameras will start filming next month to capture preparations for, and the playing of, the FA Cup final before TV crews move on to cover Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the US and Canada and the start of the 2012/13 campaign.

“I expect it will be compelling programming as Liverpool will provide unprecedented access,” said chairman Tom Werner.

“This will be an amazing opportunity for our fans to see a new side of the club and for us to reach out to many more potential supporters around the world who will come to understand what makes Liverpool FC so special.”

Skipper Steven Gerrard is back training after being rested at the weekend, but fellow midfielder Charlie Adam has had his season ended by injury. Central midfield has been a problem area for Kenny Dalglish with Gerrard absent for the majority of the first half of the campaign — making just five appearances between August and December — after groin ankle problems.

He then lost Brazil international Lucas Leiva, seen as pivotal in the Liverpool set-up, to a knee injury in November which prematurely ended his involvement.

Gerrard returned to full fitness in the second half of the season and has been paired alongside Adam, Jordan Henderson and Jay Spearing.
