Dunne signs three-year City deal

CORK CITY manager Tommy Dunne has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

Dunne signs three-year City deal

In just two seasons, Dunne has guided City to the First Division title and promotion to the Premier Division.

Speaking after he’d agreed the new deal yesterday, Dunne said: “It was fantastic to be part of something so special this season and it was the result of a huge group effort. It’s important that we enjoy what happened but it’s also important that we all work even harder now. I’m ambitious and I know that everyone else involved in the club also wants to see Cork City back at the top end of Irish football.”

Meanwhile, after helping to oversee the club’s recovery and a return to the top flight of the Airtricity League, John O’Sullivan is stepping down as chairman of Cork City FC and the supporters trust FORAS.

“It is also important that new blood keeps coming through onto the board so that ideas remain fresh and reflective of where trustees want our club go,” he said.

FORAS board member Jonathan O’Brien, who thanked O’Sullivan for his contribution, will act as interim chairman until the trust’s AGM early next Spring.
