Foley ruled out of Euro qualifiers

WOLVES’ Kevin Foley is set to miss Ireland European Championship double-header next month.

The full-back has been nursing an ankle problem and, after initial tests proved inconclusive, he was returning to see a specialist yesterday amid growing expectation that the injury will require surgery.

A regular in Ireland squads though his appearances in the team have been limited, Foley was last week named in Giovanni Trapattoni’s 27-man panel for the upcoming games away to Andorra and at home to Armenia.
