BLACKPOOL boss Ian Holloway has reiterated his threat to resign if the club are punished for his team selection against Aston Villa and insisted the situation is completely different to the one that saw Wolves given a suspended fine.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy made 10 changes for a match against Manchester United last season, just like Holloway did for the 3-2 defeat at Villa Park on Wednesday.

But, while McCarthy admitted he made the changes with the following week’s game against Burnley in mind, Holloway said he picked a team he thought could win the match and that his selection was vindicated by how close they came to getting a result.
