And it won’t make his manager Arsene Wenger feel any better that his farmed-out talent was netting goals across the divisions at the weekend.
Jack Wilshere claimed his first Premier League goal as Bolton eased their relegation worries with a huge 2-1 victory at West Ham, but other Gunner starlets were also reminding their manager of their talent.
Jay Emmanuel Thomas was on target twice for Doncaster as they eased to a 5-2 away win at Bristol City, while Jay Simpson opened the scoring for QPR as Neil Warnock began life at Loftus Road with a 3-1 victory over promotion chasing West Brom.
Typically, though, Wenger didn’t let his frustration show after Bendtner’s horror show against Burnley.

“Overall in his game, he was quite good. In his finishing, he missed chance after chance, but if you are a striker, it is like that. You think ‘I missed the first one, but I will score the next one’. Once you have missed the second one, you are in trouble because after you do not know how to take the third one – ‘do I really go for it, or wait for the ball?’ That is what happened to him today.
“I always feel sorry for someone who missed chances. Sometimes you are angry with a guy who is not committed enough. You do not miss chances on purpose.”
