CORK CITY chairman Tom Coughlan yesterday welcomed a pay agreement with the club’s players which brings an end to recent unrest at the club based around arrears in wages and money owed.

The squad will get 60% of their August arrears on September 10 and then five more instalments on dates up to and including December 10.

“I am delighted this deal has been reached with the players,” said Tom Coughlan. “It’s been a very hard time for us all over the past few months, but that is all behind us now. A new payment structure is in place so it’s onwards and upwards and see where we can go in terms of the league.
