Sevilla star Puerta suffers heart attack during victory
Puerta was taken to hospital after collapsing with a heart attack midway through the first half against Getafe on Saturday night.
The Spain international was able to walk from the pitch after being attended by medical staff, who prevented him swallowing his tongue, but then collapsed again in the changing rooms.
The latest report on Puerta, released by the hospital last night, said: “Antonio Puerta continues to be in the intensive care unit under sedation, connected to a ventilating machine and with hemodynamic instability.”
Sevilla had come from behind to beat nine-man Getafe 4-1.
