ARSENE WENGER accused Blackburn Rovers of adopting tactics of “violence” after a stormy game at Ewood Park resulted in Jens Lehmann’s latest blunder costing Arsenal victory.

A game of nine yellow cards, two of which went to Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen, threatened to erupt into ugly scenes at times with several players, notably Robin van Persie and Robbie Savage, committing terrible challenges.

Yet although both sets of players appeared to be as bad as each other, Wenger, not for the first time, could only see his team as the victims.
